Description

This two day course will outline the various operating methods and technology options to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions from a typical natural gas compressor station with a centrifugal compressor and gas turbine driver. The increased awareness from the course will help reduce emissions from current equipment used as well as provide direction for capital improvement project options. The course will also cover other emissions such as NOx and how they can be reduced.

Key Topics Covered:

  • Magnitude of emissions from a typical compressor station

  • Efficiency improvement opportunities (compressor, gas turbine, line losses)

  • Monitoring and reducing methane leaks

  • Recovering methane during planned maintenance and emergency trips

  • Converting to an electric motor driver

  • Vent elimination

  • Backup generator emission reduction

  • Elimination of losses from tank vents, separators, scrubbers

  • Dual drive technologies

  • Remote monitoring of emissions

  • Reducing gas turbine NOx emissions

Suitable For:

Engineers, supervisors, operations and maintenance personnel who are responsible for the operation of natural gas compressor stations. The course will also be appropriate for individuals working in regulatory bodies responsible for greenhouse gas emission reduction.
