Drowning in Data? It’s Time to Master Critical Thinking.

We live in a world where information is constantly flowing, and major challenges—like the immense energy transition—demand our attention. We have the digital tools and artificial intelligence to help, but we’re often stuck in endless debates, bogged down by meetings and misinformation. We’re told to “think creatively,” but what we truly need is to re-master critical thinking.

Critical thinking isn’t about being negative; it’s the disciplined process of analyzing facts to make sound, informed decisions. It’s the essential skill we seem to have forgotten. This course is designed to help you reclaim that skill and apply it directly to today’s challenges.

A Game-Changing Approach to Learning

This isn’t a typical classroom course. It’s an intensive, two-day, interactive workshop built around a board game. You’ll join a team of delegates, all involved in decision-making, who want to improve how they think.

As you move through the game, each square presents a new data set and introduces a specific analytical technique. You’ll learn by doing, not just listening. By the end of the course, you’ll be able to:

  • Separate fact from opinion
  • Identify cognitive bias and understand its influence on human cognition
  • Follow the “golden rules” of analysis
  • Simplify complex analysis and planning with a repeatable process
  • Distinguish between good practice and common practice

The curriculum is a series of interactive game sessions and debriefs. After each round, your team will present your findings and learnings, discussing how the analytical techniques apply to real-world scenarios in your own workplace. The game exercises cover a wide range of practical applications, from Fault Tree and FMEA to Event Tree and Bayes Theorem.

The Goal: Practical Application

The final part of the course focuses on moving from theory to practice. The course concludes with two key sessions: a discussion on what’s considered “common practice” and a presentation on “good practice” derived from the critical thinking you’ve just experienced in the game. The final step is for you to discuss how to apply these newfound principles directly to your role, ensuring the lessons last long after the course is over.

Are you ready to stop being caught up in debate and start leading with clear, fact-based decisions?
