Technical Trainer – Rotating Equipment Specialist
About Us:
ESD Simulation Training is a leading, international training company providing technical training courses to personnel in the Oil & Gas and Process industries. . Based out of Aberdeen UK, Perth Australia, and Kelowna Canada, we regularly deliver training courses across the globe. We offer a range of courses on Compressors, Process Control, FPSO’s, LNG, Glycol Dehydration, and many more. These courses feature a mixture of lectures, case studies, and dynamic simulation models. Courses are delivered both online and in-person and generally span from 1 to 5 days. We have been in operation for over 30 years and have trained many of the leading international Oil & Gas companies during this time.
The Opportunity:
This position is responsible for the delivery of training courses to operations personnel and engineers working in the Oil & Gas and other related Process industries. This trainer will deliver courses both online and in person. Specifically, this trainer will deliver courses focused on Rotating Equipment, including courses such as our “Mechanical Aspects of Centrifugal Compressors” course. You will be responsible for presenting theory material to delegates, as well as running delegates through many hands-on exercises to reinforce learning using our simulation models. Additionally, all trainers are expected to take a key role in the ongoing development of their courses to ensure that the material remains relevant and up-to-date.
Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Mechanical Engineer designation (member of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers or a University Degree in Mechanical Engineering) and have extensive work experience specializing in Rotating Equipment. You must be based in the UK and able to travel to deliver courses when required. Technological know-how is a must, including familiarity with Microsoft Teams and Zoom programs. - Experience working in the Oil & Gas or other related Process industries
- 15+ years of industry experience
- Practical work experience involving Compressors
- Prior experience training and/or coaching others
- Strong verbal communication and presentation abilities
- Engaging presentation style
- Committed to learning with up-to-date knowledge of current industry practices, etc.
Notes:
- This position takes place on an ad-hoc, part-time basis
- Must be based in the UK
- Position starts ASAP
- Full training on how to run all of our simulation models is provided
